Big Changes for Brad

After 9 years, 6 states and 3 countries, Brad has officially resigned from Maersk and is moving on to an incredible opportunity. The best part is the location..... Annapolis! His commute will be shortened from 1 1/2 hours each way to 7 minutes. Aside from being geographically desirable, it is an amazing opportunity and quite an achievement. He will be the director of the seaport asset investment program at a private equity company. It was a very bittersweet decision to leave such an incredible company who afforded us once in a lifetime opportunities, but it is time to move on! Brad's mom let us use her sailboat for the weekend and we spent Saturday and Sunday on the eastern shore of Maryland at St. Michael's. Below you can see Brad with our friends Jason and Lauren right before we cracked open a big bottle of champaign to celebrate Brad's new job. A little background on Jason: We went to college together at University of Hartford and Jason was my RA. We became great friends and drinking buddies. When I transferred down to Towson University we lost touch. After not having seen or spoken to one another in over 5 years, I was walking Winston one day and noticed Jason walking out of a home in my neighborhood that had just recently sold. Turns out him and his wife bought the house and now we are all friends.
Our cocktail hour was very enjoyable. Especially the champaign.
Below is the Inn at Perry Cabin. If you've seen the movie "Wedding Crashers," this is where the wedding scene was filmed.
On Sunday, Brad's mom and her husband came over to St. Michaels on their power boat to join us for breakfast. We left them with the sailboat and took their new power boat home. We think they should start up their own charter company!

Sisters are the best!

My sister flew in from Seattle this past Thursday night for a long weekend visit. On Friday, we kicked off the weekend and started our day kayaking in a creek by our house, followed by an afternoon lounging poolside. My friend Maura came over Friday afternoon and we had a little happy hour out on our deck before going out for sushi.

Ryan and Maura enjoying some nice cold white wine.
Winston eye balling the brie.
Despite the hot temperature and little wind, we ventured out on Sunday for a sail since Ryan had never been out on our sailboat.

Ryan and Brad relaxing while I do all the work!
It was sad to bring my sister to the airport today. We miss you already Ry! We'll see you out in Seattle next time.
