Sailing, BBQ's & The Big Daddy

This past weekend we enjoyed a nice long 3 day holiday weekend. I actually played a little hookey from work on Friday afternoon and we spent the afternoon sailing. Winston tried out his life jacket for the first time and hated it.
On Saturday afternoon we had our family over for a BBQ. Owen, my friend Jill's little boy, pictured above looks a little bored and hungry for his bottle. Brad wanted to give him chicken which is very scary to me. He's only 3 months old. Where's the common sense???
And as for my triplet niece and nephews, they amused themselves playing in the rocks and then covering themselves with mulch and dirt. They seemed to be having a grand ol' time.

When Monday rolled around we decided to do some car shopping. With gas prices on the rise we think it may be time to part with our beloved V8, 26 gallon premium fuel required VW Touareg and get something a little more economical and "green!" We both LOVE our car but want to get rid of it while there may be some value left. We found a Toyota Hybrid today that we drove and really liked. It's an SUV still, but gets 27 miles to the gallon (only requires 87 octane) compared to our 14 miles to the gallon. We'll see if we can get rid of our gas guzzler VW without loosing our shirts and if so hopefully we'll be in a more "green" ride soon.
After a long afternoon of dealing with car salesman, we were ready for some R & R. We spent the rest of the afternoon reading and lying in the "Big Daddy" hammock we bought a few months ago. It is definitely by far the best purchase (other than our new kitchen) that I've made this year. And I now know why they call it the Big Daddy. It's more than roomy enough for 2 people.
